I am completely disgusted. I don’t care if they are moving to HD, just redraw the original exactly. Matt Groening, end this.

Much like when Homer was being initiated into the Stone Cutters with the Leap of Faith, the bottom has given out multiple times with The Simpsons, with the floors (and the dignity of the show’s creators) progressively sinking lower and lower. I think it’s safe to say that this is a new low and, hopefully, the final insult to lifelong fans.
We’ll say it again for emphasis: Matt Groening, if you are reading, please end this madness.
Expected to hate this—-like all things new—-but come on, its totally great!
Of course the show will never return to quite the same level of subtle hilarity of season x - xx; that’s an impossible expectation. Nothing can be ‘cutting-edge’ without evolution. The producers had to react to futurama, family guy, arrested development, whatevers-on-these-days to stay afloat. Esoteric social satire just doesn’t deliver the laughs anymore. At least they’ve tried to keep it fresh; look at all the subtle visual gags, complex animation, and graphical layering—Look at the Layering!!!
I, for one, lolled when moleman pops up, and when homer FINALLY gets hit by the car. You all should be goddamn thankful that the Simpsons has endured this long in any form at all.
